Meet Studio Owner and Director, Shelly R. Pershing
Shelly is a 1996 honors graduate of Oklahoma City University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Management (the only degree of its kind anywhere).  She has over 30 years of experience as a dancer/teacher. Her credits include work with Andy Williams in Branson, Missouri; The Norman, Oklahoma Ballet Company; The Oklahoma Opera and Music Theatre Company; The American Spirit Dance Company of Oklahoma; and the late, great Shari Lewis and Lambchop.

Shelly (shown right, with her adorable daughter Reese!) has extensive training in business management, stage management, costume design, and technical theatre in addition to years of formal dance training in all styles. She has served as production chair/choreographer for a local Miss Texas preliminary pageant, and has taught at the Lewisville/Flower Mound YMCA. Shelly's husband Daniel serves as the studio's Technical Director during show season, and has extensive Stagehand experience including 5 years of professional stage work in Branson, Missouri for Andy Williams.

Assistant Director,  Mrs. Laura Cohen - Toddlers, Pre-School Dance, Ballet and Pointe 

We are blessed that our Assistant Director, Mrs. Laura is part of the Dance Reflections family! She is eager to share her love of classical ballet and the arts!  She began her dance career at a very young age and studied with many different teachers until joining The School of Performing Arts in Fern Park, Florida.  Laura is classically trained in Ballet and Pointe, but she was also formally trained in Jazz, Modern, Tap, and Pilates.  In 2002, Laura joined the studio's pre-professional dance company under the direction of Russell and Phyllis Sultzbach.  In her time with the company, Mrs. Laura danced many roles in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and many other original ballet pieces.

Laura attended the University of Florida earning an Associate's degree in Education and dancing/choreographing with the student company, Floridance.  At U. F., she met her husband David and they moved to Texas.  Laura also earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology with Ashford University. Laura and her husband David live in Flower Mound with their two daughters, Anna and Marie.  Teaching at Dance Reflections has strengthened her passion for dance, and she absolutely adores working with dancers of all ages!

Meet Dance Educator, Mrs. Brittany Hussmann:  Jazz and Drill Team Prep 

We are blessed to have Miss Brittany Hussmann on staff for our 19th Season!
She is a gifted dancer and teacher who has had many successes with young dancers fulfillig their dream of becoming H.S. Drill Team members!

Brittany is a native Texan, born and raised right here in the Dallas area. She has received formal training in all dance styles and has been dancing for over 20 years. In addition to studio dancing, Brittany was a member of Flower Mound High School's Rosettes Drill Team for all 4 years and was part of the tap, lyrical and kick teams. She also served as Senior Lieutenant Officer. 

Upon graduating from High School, Brittany attended the University of North Texas and went on to dance for area professional sports teams in addition to doing choreography for dancers and teams, field routines, competition/show routines and professional half-time performances. 

We are excited to celebrate Mrs. Brittany's recent marriage to her longtime sweetheart Mr. Robert. 

Meet Dance Educator, Mr. Mose "Prokid" Thomas: Hip Hop Master

Mose "Prokid" Thomas was born and in the small town of Beaumont, Texas. After high school is when he found his calling in the dance world. Starting off his career competing in numerous competitions like West Coast Hip Hop Dance Explosion, The Pulse Convention, and Showstoppers Dance Convention he grew with knowledge of the history of dance mentally and physical which he became Prokid.

Mose resides in Dallas, Texas and loves being a father to his 2 beautiful kids, more than anything else. He continues to grow as a dancer, and by going from only freestyle hip hop to now advancing in the choreography, his overall goal is to become a Professional dancer traveling teaching and doing shows.

"I just strive to be a positive influence to the young dance world, especially young men, to give them encouragement that it is possible to be a Father, Husband, and a dancer but its not easy. One thing Mose Lives by when he dances is his Motto "No Impressing Just Expressing" meaning he doesn't  need to impress someone with my talent because if I let my true emotions be seen through my art and moment, then it will leave a lasting impression.

Meet Dance Educator, Mrs. Michelle Valdez: Contemporary,  Jazz and Ballet 


Michelle Valdez grew up in a house full of dancers and knew at a very young age that dance was going to be in her future. She started her training in ballet, tap, and jazz at a small local studio from the ages 4-16. In high school, she was a member of the New Braunfels High School Monoceras Drill Team where she competed in jazz, high kick, hip-hop, and lyrical. She served as a two year officer holding the rank of Colonel her senior year.

Michelle graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelors of Education in Dance-teaching. During her time at SFA, Michelle was a member of the SFA Pom Squad as well as a senior member in the Repertory Dance Company. She had the opportunity to perform, teach, and take class at the American College Dance Festival as well as perform and choreograph in multiple SFA Danceworks Concerts. Throughout her college training, Michelle studied the modern dance methods and techniques of Martha Graham, Jose Limon, Merce Cunningham, and Doris Humphrey. 

Newly married, Mrs. Michelle lives in Grapevine with her husband Kyle. 

Music Theatre and Adult Tap Guest Teacher, Mrs. Emmalyn Miron

The Green Room Theatre Company was founded by Emmalyn Miron, LMSW. Emmalyn is also the owner of Wonderland Princess Parties. She holds her BA in Music Theatre and Acting/Directing and is a Licensed Master Social Worker.  She has performed with the National Broadway Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cotton Patch Gospel, which toured Ireland, The Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival and Theatre Britain. She was also a member of the cast of the Jekyll & Hyde Club, Dallas, and Chorvettes Stageworks Company: Goodwill Ambassadors for Oklahoma.

Emmalyn has been following her passion in acting, singing and dancing for the past 23 years and loves sharing her performance skills with younger audiences. In addition, Emmalyn was Director of Enrichment and taught theatre at Coram Deo Academy for several years.
